PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that video data from another device cannot be displayed on a display device if the display device is automatically controlled into a standby state when reproducing a content including no video data. SOLUTION: When a selector circuit 40 of a display device 30 selects one other than a connector part 38 to which an AV amplifier 20 is connected and video data from a device other than the AV amplifier 20 is displayed, the AV amplifier 20 does not transmit a power supply off command, and therefore, it is possible to prevent the display device 30 from entering a standby state. When the selector circuit 40 of the display device 30 selects the connector part 38 to which the AV amplifier 20 is connected and the type of the content to be reproduced by a DVD player 10 does not include video, the AV amplifier 20 transmits a power supply off command to the display device 30, and therefore, it is possible to cause the display device 30 to enter a standby state.
