<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load sensor which can measure SAT with high precision when it is applied to a steering device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The load sensor is used for a steering device comprising a tie rod 23 of which one end is connected to a tire 25 to steer the tire and a steering shaft which has a rack 21 and a rack end 22 which are shaft-like members extending in the width direction and moves in the width direction in accordance with the operation of a steering 28. The load sensor is provided between the rack 21 and the rack end 22 to measure a load in the axial direction of the steering shaft. The axial direction of the rack 21 and the rack end 22 is aligned with the vehicle width direction at all times, and the load sensor is placed so that the load in the axial direction is measured, thereby measuring the magnitude of SAT with high precision regardless of the inclination θ of the tie rod 23.
