PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent (EL) element, which can prevent foreign bodies from sticking to an organic layer and has a high yield, and to provide the organic EL element manufactured by the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: When forming a plurality of organic layers by applying a plurality of solvents dissolving or dispersing a material of the organic layer in order and by drying them regarding the organic EL element consisting of a first electrode, a second electrode, and the plurality of organic layers sandwiched by the first electrode and the second electrode and including at least light-emitting layers, at least one of a step S2 of forming a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer, a step S3 of forming a light-emitting layer, and a step S4 of forming an electron transport layer and an electron injection layer is carried out under an antistatic atmosphere.
