<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaccine composition containing modified cancer cell particles having immunogenicity, and to provide a method for producing the vaccine composition. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vaccine composition is obtained by combining a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier with modified cancer cell particles obtained by delipidation of cancer cells using a solvent useful for extracting lipids from the cancer cells to expose a cancer cell antigen. When the modified cancer cell particles are administered to an animal or a human, the modified cancer cell particles initiate a positive immunogenic response, helping treating and/or preventing cancer, or delaying cancer progression.
