PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine start system can change over an electric power supply state of a vehicle and start and stopp the engine by depressing an engine switch and easy to get a desired electric power supply state. SOLUTION: This system includes an engine switch changing over a plurality of steps of electric power supply states from a first state in which electric power from an on-vehicle power source is not supplied to an on-vehicle electronic apparatus to an Nth state in which a starter of the engine becomes usable and the engine is started, by a push down type or a contact type switch operation. The system also includes a guidance display indicating the electric power supply state which is determined based on operation of the engine switch and to which change over is planned but has not been done as guidance information.
