The present invention relates to an external device connecting apparatus mountable in an automobile cassette deck including a main body mountable in a cassette deck of a vehicle, and an external device holding means including a holding part for holding an external device and a supporting part inserted in a cassette tape inlet formed at a front surface of the cassette deck and connected with the main body through a connecting extension part, wherein the connecting extension part connecting the main body with the supporting part of the external device holding means includes a longitudinally movable joint. The present external device connecting apparatus can prevent displacement or vibration generated in the external device holding means from being directly delivered to the main body, which is mounted in the cassette deck, and allow the main body to move down to a sufficiently lower position to be accurately positioned at a player of the cassette deck.
