PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide smokable or smokeless tobacco products to achieve less irritation and antioxidation benefits. SOLUTION: Provided is the smokable or smokeless tobacco products to which a substantially pure compound having vitamin E activity is added to achieve less irritation and antioxidation benefits. A substantially pure "dry" powdered ester analog of vitamin E, (such as vitamin E acid succinate or spray dried vitamin E acetate) is mixed directly with the smokable or smokeless tobacco products during manufacturing process, in a preferred embodiment. For cigarette applications, these vitamin E compounds can also be inserted into a cigarette filter (20), holder and/or paper (26), either in powdered form or in microencapsulated form. Although not preferred, a common oily form of vitamin E can be used so long as it does not ruin the appearance and function of the tobacco or non-tobacco products. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
