<p>The invention relates to methods of dividing metal and non-metal rod-shaped, tubular, sheet and other materials into blanks and a device for carrying out this method. It can be used in billet workshops and in cutting sections in light engineering, metallurgical, tube-rolling and other plants. The aim of the invention is to ensure a high-quality break with the requisite geometrical characteristics. The material is broken in the form of a rod with an overhang with recess compressed by clamp elements. The system comprises a base (1) connected to an upper plate (2) by tie columns (3) thereby forming a rigid supporting framework. A percussion-pulse drive (6) with a breaker element (7) is secured above the columns (3) to the plate (2) by two hydraulic cylinders (4) and the plate (5). The percussion-pulse drive (6) can move freely with the aid of the hydraulic cylinders (4) along the line of the columns (3) towards the material (8) with the projecting overhang and held by a stress concentrator on the base (1) - in the present case a rod with recess (9). A heavy duty press mechanism is connected to the plate (2) and base (1) in the form of two hydraulic cylinders (10, 11) and clamp elements (12, 13) fitted with a hard alloy tool (14). The diameter (D1) of the hydraulic cylinder (11) is greater than the diameter (D2) of the hydraulic cylinder (4), the pressure chambers of the hydraulic cylinders (4, 11) intercommunicate via a pipe (15) and non-return valve (16) when the pulse load is applied. The material (8) to be broken is held on the base (1) and press device between the clamp elements (12, 13). The cutting edge of the breaker element (7) is defined by the plane (17) parallel to the cutting plane (18) and by the plane (19) extending at an acute angle α to the overhang.</p> |
