<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dither processing apparatus and a printer for printing, on a printing medium, printing data subjected to dither processing by a dither processor, which are reduced in cost by suppressing a circuit scale especially. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printer performs a dither processing, and includes: a first storage means for storing data before dither processing; a second storing means for storing threshold information for each predetermined color; and a dither processing control means for reading the data from the first storage means, and performs the dither processing according to the threshold information for each color. The dither processing control means performs the dither processing by comparing the threshold information corresponding to a gradation value updated for each line, with the data, and rewrites the data after the dither processing on the first storage means.
