LIGHT DIFFUSION UNIT, BACKLIGHT UNIT, AND DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion unit for achieving thinning by dissolving brightness irregularity of a screen while improving brightness of screen display, and to provide a backlight unit having it and a display.

SOLUTION: The light diffusion unit includes a light transmission light guide plate 41 for making an emission face 41a for emitting light of a light source part 6 by one face, and a light diffusion plate 45 for diffusing light emitted from the emission face 41a by being oppositely arranged on the emission face 41a. The light source part 6 has a plurality of point light sources 12. The light guide plate 41 forms a plurality of storing holes 42 for individually storing a plurality of point light sources 12 by being penetrated in the thickness direction. The light diffusion plate 45 forms a plurality of projections 46 for diffusing light by being integrally protruded from an incident face 45b facing the emission face 41a of the light guide plate 41. While the light guide plate 41 and the light diffusion plate 45 are overlapped in their thickness direction, each projection 46 is individually inserted in the plurality of the storing holes 42 so that each projection 46 is counter arranged to the plurality of the point light sources 12 respectively.
