<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable brick for a blast furnace hearth having a long lifetime, less liable to cause energy loss, excellent in corrosion resistance to molten iron, and excellent also in thermal shock resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The brick for the blast furnace hearth includes ≥97 mass% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, ≤3 mass% SiO<SB>2</SB>and ≤0.1 mass% C, and is obtained by kneading and molding a refractory material blend including 30-60 mass% alumina-based material of ≥1 mm particle size, 30-60 mass% alumina-based material of <0.2 mm particle size and the balance alumina-based material of 0.2 to <1 mm particle size and having an SiO<SB>2</SB>content of ≤3 mass%, and firing the resultant molded body in an oxidizing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
