<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for monitoring an electric machine. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic field (400) related to the electric machine (105) is measured at one or more of points on the outside of the electric machine (105), and each magnetic-field value is related to each of one or more of the points.
