<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas recirculation valve having a simple construction for reducing manufacturing cost and assembling manhours. Ž<P>SOLUTION: On a valve shaft 74 having a valve portion 108, a stopper plate 126 is mounted via a recessed groove 124. The stopper plate 126 formed at the approximate center of a body part 128 includes a pawl portion 132 facing a hole portion 130 through which the valve shaft 74 is inserted. The pawl portion 132 is engaged with the recessed groove 124 to fix the stopper plate 126 to the valve shaft 74, and a plurality of leg portions 134 are protruded from the body part 128 to hold a third spring holder 136 which can hold a holding spring 112.
