<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating coating producing an economical insulating coating film having high processing resistance, excellent flexibility, a high elastic modulus and good coating properties and exhibiting good solubility, handling ease, and productivity, and to provide an insulated electric wire to which the coating is applied to be burnt, and a motor using the insulated electric wire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The insulating coating is formed of an insulating resin vanish of a polyamideimide synthesized by using equimolar amounts of a diisocyanate component and an acid component. The polyamideimide is polymerized by using the diisocyanate component, which contains 5-33 mol% of 4,4'-bitolylene diisocyanate and 95-67 mol% of tolylene diisocyanate in the whole diisocyanate component, and the acid component, which contains 5-60 mol% of a pyromellitic acid dianhydride and 95-40 mol% of a trimellitic acid anhydride in the whole acid component.
