PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier film combining high gas barrier properties with high heat resistance. SOLUTION: The gas barrier film has a solvent-resistant layer 3, a cardo-polymer layer 4 and a silicon oxynitride layer 5 formed in this order on both surfaces of a polyimide film 2. The solvent-resistant layer 3 is one against the solvent (for example, diglycol diether) contained in the coating liquid for forming the cardo-polymer layer. As a preferable example, a constitution such as the solvent-resistant layer consists of an acrylic curing resin and the cardo-polymer layer consists of an epoxy curing resin is employed.
