<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging member reduced in size, and capable of avoiding breakage of a joining part of two components and displacement of a clearance between the two components by buffering an impact onto a heavy component when a machine main body constituted of the two components having different weights should fall or undergo other similar accidents during transportation to apply an impact on the two components. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The packaging member 21 includes a first component 13 and a second component 14 supported by the first component 13, and packages an instrument body 11 whose second component 14 is heavier than the first component 13. The packaging member 21 includes a first packaging member 22 for holding the first component 13 of the instrument body 11, a second packaging member 23 for holding the second component 14 of the instrument body 11, and a third packaging member 25 for supporting the second packaging member 23. The second packaging member 23 changes in its holding state of the second component 14 when an impact load received from the second component 14 exceeds a certain value.
