<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the mass production of a barrier mechanism in which high resistance properties with respect to external factors such as dust and vibration and the high positional accuracy of a barrier blade in a thrust direction are secured. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The barrier mechanism is characterized in including: a pair of barrier blades 101 which are provided to be movable in a contact and separate direction and moved to be selectively positioned to a position where an optical path is opened and a position where the optical path is closed; and guide poles 107 which are provided in positions retreated from the optical path and engaged with the pair of barrier blades 101 so that they can be moved along the contact and separate direction. The movement positions of the barrier blades 101 are regulated by the guide poles 107, so that the barrier blades 101 are moved only in a plane crossing the optical axis.
