METHOD FOR EVALUATING CARBON NANOTUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a carbon nanotube which can evaluate defect of the carbon nanotube simply and securely without deteriorating characteristics of the carbon nanotube. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating a carbon nanotube comprises adsorbing vapour such as H2or D2to the carbon nanotube fixed in a metal substrate by putting the carbon nanotube into a solvent such as ethanol to be dispersed by ultrasonic waves and spraying the solvent including the carbon nanotube to the metal substrate using an air brushing or the like and then drying, then measuring programmed temperature desorption spectrum to be heated, and determining the defect of the carbon nanotube, based on a peak temperature and a peak shape of the resultant programmed temperature desorption spectrum.
