PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device able to achieve efficient recording of a test pattern and inspection of an ink discharge state by a compact configuration of the device. SOLUTION: An inspecting conveyance section 7 is disposed in an inspecting area adjacent to a conveyance section 3 which conveys a recording medium. The inspecting conveyance section 7 conveys the inspecting recording sheet 70 in the same direction as a recording medium at the same conveying speed as that for the recording medium. To inspect an discharge state, a recording head 2 is positioned in the inspecting area, and a test pattern is disposed opposite the inspecting recording sheet 70 and recorded thereon. The recorded test pattern is read by moving a reading head for scanning. Based on the read image data, the ink discharge state is determined.
