[Class 144 (ii).] A low-pressure pneumatic tyre of the kind described in Specification 326,760, [Class 144 (ii), Wheel tyres, Pneumatic &c.], constructed to replace single or twin circular section highpressure tyres of similar centre line height, is formed (in cross section) with an arcuate cord foundation at least 50 per cent wider than the high-pressure tyre, an abnormally wide tread merging into short side-wall pillars 18, 19 which form the widest part of the cover, and widely-spaced beads 2, 3. The profile of the foundation from the tread apex to the parts 18, 19 is semicircular. The side portions 12, 13 of the tread are formed ribs 15 and alternating triangular cavities 16, 17. |
