The method involves receiving an assembling head (6) arranged at a machine base body (16) by a positioning system (7). Two components (3) are assembled on a predetermined assembling position of a substrate (2). The substrate and the positioning system rest relative to the machine base body during positioning of the components. The assembling position of the components is arranged within a strip (S) of the substrate and exhibits different distances to a vertical projection of traveling axis of the assembling head on the substrate. An independent claim is also included for an assembling machine for assembling components on a substrate.
