The device (1) has a cooking chamber partially visible through a viewing window (22) of a cooking chamber door (19), and a cleaning device (3) provided for the chamber and comprising a storage container for a liquid cleaning agent. The container stays in flow connection with a nozzle assembly (5) arranged in the chamber. The container is designed as a removable cartridge (4) that has an inlet opening, where the opening is covered by a perforated elastic membrane. The membrane is fixed to a connecting piece of a cartridge housing by a cover that is detachable from the opening.
