<p>A method of forming a coupled coil arrangement comprises coupling a first lead 208 of a first coil 202 to a second lead 210 which may be of a second coil 204. A superconductive jointing alloy 214 is employed to couple the leads. The jointing alloy is capable of withstanding the temperature of heated encapsulation material without melting, so that the coils can be encapsulated after joining rather than before. Suitable jointing alloys are 55.5% bismuth, 44.5% lead, or 52.5% bismuth, 32% lead and 15.5% tin.</p> |
