PURPOSE: A circuit breaker system and an operating method thereof are provided to change the response of the circuit breaker by transmitting a selective interlock signal from a downstream circuit breaker to an upstream circuit breaker when the failure is detected. CONSTITUTION: A circuit breaker(26) has a first trip unit(48). A second circuit breaker(42,44) has a second trip unit(54). The first trip unit includes a first processor, a first current sensor, and a first data communication device. The first current sensor is electrically connected to the first processor. The first data communication device transmits the signal from the first processor. The second trip unit includes a second processor, a second current sensor, and a second data communication device. The second current sensor is electrically connected to the second processor. The second data communication device transmits the signal from the first communication device to the second processor. |
