PURPOSE: An insect ornament is provided to produce an insect-shaped ornament using a natural material. CONSTITUTION: An insect ornament comprises a head portion(20), body portion(30), and wing portion(10). The head portion, body portion, and wing portion are made of barley stalks respectively. The wing portion is prepared by contacting a pair of sheet members with the inner side of a barley stalk cut to predetermined length. The head portion is prepared by knotting the barley stalk to form the eyes of an insect. At least the one barley stalk forming the head portion, body portion, or wing portion is dyed before the preparation. The insect is a dragonfly.
