PURPOSE: A container detection method, a device and a transfer vehicle system are provided to extract the information necessary for own sorting to pick up the relevant container. CONSTITUTION: A container detection device comprises a scanner and a data analysis part. The container detection device is installed at the container transfer vehicle, and detects the location of container, and transmits the information to the control system of the container transfer vehicle. The scanner(110) scans the container and outputs the result. The data analysis part(120) distinguishes the container using the information scanned from the scanner. The data analysis part computes an angle and a location of the distinguished container and outputs the results. The data analysis part includes the size determining unit, and the condition determination part. The size determining unit determines the size of an object using the information scanned from a scanner. The condition determination part(122) computes an angle and the location in which a container is placed and outputs the result.
