<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication device which attains handover to different wireless communication networks, without a decrease in reproduction quality or real time performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: During communication over a first wireless communication network 15, the reproduction speed of running applications is controlled by changing the upper accumulation limit of a jitter buffer according to the wireless status, and when a determination has been made to start preparing for handover from the first wireless communication network 15 to a second wireless communication network 16, the preparation time until handover and the respective absolute delay times for the first wireless communication network 15 and the second wireless communication network 16 are obtained from a handover controller 36. On the basis of the obtained information and the amount of data within the jitter buffer 47 when determining to start handover preparation, the reproduction speeds of the running applications are controlled to be reduced.
