<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic carrier hardly causing variation of a charge amount and change of image quality caused by toner spent and/or abrasion of a carrier coating layer after long-term stirring of a developer, to provide the developer and to provide an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic developer is a two component developer consisting of toner and the carrier. The toner includes <4 mass% amount of a releasing agent present from the surface of a toner particle to 0.3 μm depth obtained by a FTIR-ATR (total reflection absorption IR spectroscopic) method and the carrier includes the coating layer on the surface of a magnetic core material particle. The coating layer is formed by using (i) colloidal silica, a condensate of an alkoxy silane, (ii) an amino resin, (iii) an acrylic resin for reacting with the amino resin and (iv) fine particles, a content of the colloidal silica contained in the coating layer is less than 60 mass% and a ratio (h/DW) of the thickness h of the coating layer to the volume average particle diameter of the carrier is more than 0.01. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
