<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly identify an advanced wave or a delayed wave, even if deviation in the actual time of arrival becomes large between the main path and the advanced wave or between the main path and the delayed wave. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) portion 58 converts a received multi-carrier signal from a time domain to a frequency domain using a plurality of kinds of windows. Portions from a delayed profile comparison portion 78 to a synchronization timing fine tuning portion 82 establish the timing of a window to be used by the FFT portion 58, based on each estimated delay profile. They identify an echo path component corresponding to a main path component for each delayed profile, and compare echo path component associated with each of the plurality of kinds of windows to derive the timing of a window.
