<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap electric motor and a fuel pump unit capable of securing insulation between an armature and a coil even if at least the armature is resin molded. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the electric motor where an insulator 40 securing insulation with winding is attached to the armature and at least the circumference of the armature containing the winding is resin molded, the insulator 40 is composed of two insulators mutually detachable in axial direction thereof, a tongue piece section 51 extended towards a first insulator side is provided on the end of a mating side in a second insulator 42, and a tip side of the tongue piece section 51 is overlapped with the end of the mating side in the first insulator in the circumferential direction.
