APPARATUS FOR EMERGENCY DRIVING OF HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An emergency operating apparatus and a method for a hybrid vehicle are provided to monitor the voltage consumption of a motor and the charge state of a battery in order to steadily control emergency drive. CONSTITUTION: An emergency operating apparatus for a hybrid vehicle comprises an engine(200), motor(300), BMS(105), clutch(210), display unit(106), emergency drive selecting unit(109), and HCU/MCU(108). The engine is a main power source controlled by ECU. The motor is an auxiliary power source operated with three phase AC voltage of an inverter. The BMS manages the charge state and output current amount of a battery. The clutch adds up the output torque of the engine and motor and applies it to a transmission. The display unit displays the charge state of the battery. The emergency drive selecting unit detects the emergency drive when the engine is not able to start. The HCU/MCU controls the clutch to block the power connection of the engine and motor when the emergency drive is detected. The HCU/MCU operates the motor only with the voltage of the battery and allows the emergency drive.
