摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a fuel cell electrode by which the surface of a water-repellent layer is smoothed to prevent a drop in output. <P>SOLUTION: According to the manufacturing method for the fuel cell electrode, a carbon cloth 2 serving as a gas diffusion layer is coated with paste 1 that is a composition for forming a water-repellent layer. While the paste 1 retains its fluidity, a capton sheet 4 (capton is a product name) is placed on the surface of the paste 1. In a chamber temporarily depressurized to the ambient pressure or lower, air bubbles remaining in the paste 1 or between the paste 1 and the capton sheet 4 are removed. The paste 1 and capton sheet 4 are then dried in a desiccator under the ambient pressure at a room temperature. Subsequently, the capton sheet 4 is peeled off to form the water-repellent layer (dried form of the paste 1) to which the smooth surface of the capton sheet 4 has been transferred, and then the gas diffusion layer, the water-repellent layer, and the catalyst layer are overlaid in this order to make the fuel cell electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
