<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine with an opening and closing structure to open two opening and closing covers by linkage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electric washing machine includes: a washing tub arranged inside a case body and having the second opening and closing cover 70; a first opening and closing cover 30 arranged in the upper part of the case body and composed of the front opening and closing cover 31 and a rear opening and closing cover 32, in which one end of the rear opening and closing cover 32 is connected to the rear part of a clothes throw-in port 20 via a second connection part 34, the other end is connected to one end of the front opening and closing cover 31, sliding pins 35 on both side of the other end of the front opening and closing cover 31 are moved on support rails 21 on both sides of the clothes throw-in port 20 so as to automatically open the cover 31; first opening mechanisms 100 arranged on both sides of the second connection part 34; a second opening mechanism 200 for opening the second opening and closing cover 70 of the washing tub 60; and first and second lock mechanisms 150, 250 for operating the respective opening mechanisms 100, 200; and a linkage mechanism 300 for transmitting the operation of the first opening mechanism 100 to the second lock mechanism 250 after prescribed time delay.
