<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which optical coupling efficiency is stably maintained by suppressing the variation in the characteristic of a resin material arranged at a light emitting element, between a light receiving element and an optical waveguide, or between optical waveguides. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The light emitting element 10 of the optical module 1 is optically coupled with the optical waveguide 30 via a first resin 40, a second resin 50 is disposed outside the first resin 40, and a barrier layer 60 is formed between the first resin 40 and the second resin 50 for deterring the transition from the second resin 50 to the first resin 40.
