<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open voltage value estimation method and an open voltage estimation device capable of accurately estimating an open voltage value corresponding to each battery by a simple constitution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When it is determined that an IG-SW is turned OFF (S1), a processing part of the open voltage value estimation device causes a timer to measure a time (S2). When it is determined that the elapsed time is not less than a first time (S3), the processing part obtains the voltage value at a predetermined sampling cycle (S4), and stores thereof (S5). The processing part calculates an elimination polarization voltage value in which the voltage obtained is reduced from the voltage value when the first time is passed (S6), plots (the elapsed time, the elimination polarization voltage value), and establishes a relation using a Kalman filter (S7). When it is determined that the IG-SW is turned ON (S8), the processing part calculates the voltage value after a second time elapses based on the relation (S9), and obtains the open voltage value by reducing the elimination polarization voltage value from the voltage value after the first time elapses (S10).
