The wheelset according to the invention for a rail vehicle having an axle and two terminal wheels is made less rigid by dividing it into two axle parts (10, 20). One axle part (10) has a length (11) that in some areas is turned to a smaller diameter, and the other axle part (20) has a longitudinal bore for surrounding a sleeve (21) for receiving the length turned to a smaller diameter in the form of a core (11). In the joined state, the axle can be rotated as if it were elastic. A hollow space provided on the front with respect to the turned length and a lubricating gap (7), which was created between the sleeve (21) and core (11), largely prevent the axle parts from being pulled apart in jerky motions. One embodiment comprises drives for the individual axle parts, said drives are coupled via a control system. |
