摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing the fluorescent material for producing a scintillator being reduced in the afterglow. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a fluorescent material for use in a scintillator which uses Ce as a light-emitting element and has a garnet structure containing Gd, Ga, Al and O, is characterized by using as an Al raw material an alumina powder which is heat-treated in vacuum. The above heat-treated alumina powder is available to a powder which is ball-mill pulverized with alumina balls.
