<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system for reducing burden on a manager, even when a non-contact IC card used in other applications, is used as the security pass. <P>SOLUTION: When a user changes a first IC card 40a registered in a master data 20 as the security pass, to a new second IC card 40b, an IC card reader 11 disposed at a gate for security check enters a re-registration mode by pressing a re-registration key of a keyboard 11b. The first IC card 40a is read out. A personal identification number determined set in advance for user authentication is input from the keyboard 11b. The second IC card 40b is read out after authentication is successful, and the ID information for uniquely identifying the second IC card 40b is registered in the master data 20.
