<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a plurality of heating elements having length corresponding to each of different width direction sizes of a plurality of recording materials and driving the heating element corresponding to the width direction size of the selected recording material, and performing the optimum image forming even if a trouble is caused in some of heating elements. <P>SOLUTION: When a part of the plurality of heating elements corresponding to the width direction sizes of the recording materials breaks down, a heating element selective driving means is controlled to inhibit drive of the heating element which breaks down, and allow drive of the heating element which does not break down. Then, a recording material selective conveying means is controlled to inhibit conveyance of first recording material corresponding to the heating element which breaks down, and allow conveyance of second recording material corresponding to the heating element which does not break down in the size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
