<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard radar device can suppress radiation of an electromagnetic wave to a human body while a vehicle is traveling at a portion where a human body is possibly irradiated with the electromagnetic wave and prevent the vehicle from colliding with an object around the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The onboard radar device includes an electromagnetic wave radiation section for radiating an electromagnetic wave around an own vehicle having the radar device, a reflection wave reception section for receiving the reflection wave reflected by an object around the vehicle while radiating the electromagnetic wave, an electromagnetic wave object detection section for detecting the object around the vehicle in accordance with the reflection wave, an auxiliary object detection section for auxiliarily detecting the object around the vehicle, and a traveling state determination section for determining whether the vehicle is traveling at a predetermined portion. The onboard radar device further includes an electromagnetic wave radiation control section that allows the electromagnetic wave radiation section to stop the radiation of the electromagnetic wave or lower the radiation intensity in accordance with the detected state of the auxiliary object detection section in a direction the same as the detecting direction of the electromagnetic wave object detection section when it is determined that the vehicle is in the state of traveling on the predetermined portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
