PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side surface coloration apparatus can enhance the durability of an ink roller without concentrating the abrasion of the ink roller upon one place. SOLUTION: The side surface coloration apparatus is constituted so that an ink roller part 11 is supported by a roller support part 12 so as to be allowed to almost axially cross the feed direction of a medium 1 to be printed at a right angle and made rotatable centering around its axis and the mounting position of the roller support part 12 to the socket part 151 of a shaking part 15 is adjusted to alter the place of the ink roller part 11 pressed to the side surface of the medium 1 to be printed to make it possible to disperse the place to be abraded of the ink roller part. Further, a cover 121, which covers the peripheral surface of the ink roller part 11 excepting the pressing direction of the ink roller part 11 to the medium 1 to be printed, is provided and the pressing quantity of the ink roller part 11 to the side surface of the medium 1 to be printed is controlled by the cover 121.
