PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device including a good liquid crystal shutter device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel 40 having a plurality of pixels 46R, 46G, 46B; an illumination device; and a liquid crystal shutter device 30 arranged between the liquid crystal panel 40 and the illumination device and having a plurality of light scattering parts. Each of the plurality of light scattering parts is held between a first electrode 34 and a second electrode 35 in a driving region A1 in which the first electrode 34 and the second electrode 35 are overlapped to each other and has a liquid crystal layer 33 for scattering incident light in accordance with voltage applied between these electrodes 34, 35. In each of the pixels 46R, 46G, 46B, the whole area of the pixel is included in one driving region A1, and the liquid crystal panel 40 and the liquid crystal shutter device 30 are arranged in an overlapped state so that two or more pixels are included in one driving region A1.
