<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet carrying device capable of preventing the damage of a sheet and a calling-out member when the calling-out member abuts upon a bundle of sheets regardless of the thickness of the bundle of sheets loaded on a sheet loading table, an image reading device equipped with the sheet carrying device, and an image forming device equipped with the image reading device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An automatic document carrying device 70 comprises a recognizing means recognizing the distance between a waiting position M and the highest face of a bundle of documents (bundle of sheets) T, wherein a calling-out roller (calling-out member) 3 can keep its position at any position between a position abutting upon a document loading table (sheet loading table) 1 and the waiting position M, and the moving distance of the calling-out roller 3 is changed according to the distance between the waiting position M and the highest face of the bundle of documents T.
