<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner sufficiently raising heat efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner is equipped with a low pressure side piping part for returning a coolant having passed through an indoor heat exchanger 51 during cooling operation to a compressor 14, and an auxiliary heat exchanger 13 connected in parallel with the piping part. The auxiliary heat exchanger 13 is arranged downwind of an outdoor heat exchanger 11, and it has a control means (a controller 70) guiding the coolant from the indoor heat exchanger 51 to the auxiliary heat exchanger 13 or the low pressure side piping part in response to an outlet temperature of the coolant of the outdoor heat exchanger 11.
