PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver displaying download necessity information indicating whether the contents require a storage function for their reception and reproduction and downloadability information indicating whether the receiver has a capability to download the content on a screen such as EPG according to program information. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver has receiving portions (11, 12, 13) for receiving and demodulating broadcast signals and extracting stream type contents or download type contents; communicating portions (11, 12, 15, 22) for downloading download type contents from an external device; an acquiring portion for acquiring program information indicating programs of one or both of stream- and download-type contents through the receiving portions or communicating portions; and a display control portion (14) for producing image signals of program guides which show the stream- and download-type contents together according to the program information acquired by the acquiring portion.
