<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved dialysis system and improved dialysis. <P>SOLUTION: More specifically, the present invention provides a system and a method for performing an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD). The system and the method perform dialysis treatment, in which dialyzate is pumped to a patient, and spent dialyzate is pumped out of the patient automatically. In addition, the system and the method can perform various dialysis treatments. Examples of the dialysis treatments to be performed with the present invention include automation of filling, dwelling, and draining of the dialyzate to and from the patient.
