<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device for controlling a hybrid vehicle for properly generating a driving force or a braking force corresponding to a request in switching a shift mode. <P>SOLUTION: The control device of a hybrid vehicle is loaded on a hybrid vehicle equipped with an engine, a first motor generator and a second motor generator, and configured so that two modes, that is, a stepless shift mode and a fixed shift mode can be switched. When the switching of the shift mode is performed between the stepless shift mode and the fixed shift mode, the torque of the second motor generator is controlled based on a request driving force or a request braking force.
