<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable hermetic compressor for improving oil supply to a piston during low and high speed operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An oil discharge passage 136 is provided in an eccentric shaft portion 114 of a shaft 115 at a position deviating from the eccentric direction of the axial center of the eccentric shaft portion 114 relative to the axial center of a main shaft portion 113 to the circumferential direction of the eccentric shaft portion 114. Thus, lubricating oil 102 is sprayed from an upper end 132 of an oil supply passage 133, namely, from a position higher than the piston 121, during low speed operation with a small amount of oil to be supplied, while the lubricating oil 102 is sprayed from both the oil discharge passage 136 and the upper end 132 in an approximately horizontal direction during high speed operation with a great amount of oil to be supplied. So, the oil is surely supplied to an upper part 141 of the piston 121 for lubrication between the piston 121 and a cylinder 118, resulting in high reliability. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
