<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect a face, in an object detection method, an object detection device, an object detection program and a printer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this object detection method, a first decision means and a second decision means deciding whether an object is present inside a detection window set to image data are prepared when detecting the object from an image shown by the image data. The first decision means makes a determination as to the detection windows set at a plurality of positions in the image data, the second decision means makes a determination as to the detection windows at the plurality of positions between the positions decided that the object is present by the first decision means, and the second decision means makes a determination as to the detection window at the position between the positions decided that the object is absent by the first decision means.
