PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting front end of strip and strip winding apparatus having the same are provided to precisely reel the strip and to minimize the strip winding failure. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for detecting front end of strip and strip winding apparatus having the same includes the optical detection unit(210), and the signal processing unit. The optical detection unit irradiates a plurality of laser beam on one point of path line the strip(10). The optical detection unit detects the quantity of light of the reflected from the strip laser beam. The signal processing unit converts the quantity of light detected from the optical detection unit to the electric signal. The signal processing unit shows the thing detected by the leading end of the signal.
